So I've invested in a treadmill. I already have a recumbent bike, but I felt that it wasn't giving me enough of a workout, espeically with the upper body. When you walk, at least you're swinging your arms, and because it's more of a weight-bearing exercise, I just feel like I get more exercise for the effort.

Since it's too cold (and dangerous) to walk outside with a friend, the treadmill is the next best option. And in order to motivate myself, I've decided to try the Eowyn Challenge (http://home.insightbb.com/~eowynchallenge/Walk/walk.html) and to post my results here online. Public shame does work. :)

My goal is to walk (and perhaps, sometimes bike) from Bag End to Rivendell (458 miles). See http://home.insightbb.com/~eowynchallenge/Tools/Bag_end/bag_end.html for the mileage chart. My first goal is to walk the 18 miles to Frodo and Sam's 1st camping spot.
